Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group is a business conglomerate comprising of Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Power and Reliance Communication.
The RADA Group has business interest in entertainment comprising of 44 FM radio station, nationwide DTH business, several Cinemas across India and Animation Studios.
He adopts new business methods in running his business empire and has moved his business scope from the traditional Indian businesses.
Anil Ambani got his break in the entertainment industry when he acquired a majority shareholding in Adlabs Films in 2005.
Adlabs Films have interest in film processing, production, exhibition and digital Cinema.
Through its partnership with Steven Spielberg’s production company DreamWorks worth $1.2B (US), Ambani’s entertainment business was shot into the Global stage.
His entertainment firm has produced number of films with Steven Spielberg.
Most of Anil Ambani’s income comes from his 65% stake in Reliance Communication.
He has been conferred with numerous awards which include-

  1. “Business Man of the Year” by The Time of India, in December, 2006.
  2. Voted “The Best Role Model” by Indian Today Magazine, in August, 2006.
  3. “The Entrepreneur of The Decade Award “by Bombay Management Association, in October, 2002.
  4. Awarded the “The CEO of the Year 2004” in the Platts Global Energy Award.
  5. Voted “MTV Youth Icon Award of The Year” in 2003.

With his foray into politics in 2004, he was elected member of the Rajya Subha Upper house in the Indian Parliament with the support of the Samaj Wady party.
But he resigned in March 2006 from the post.
He serves as a member of the Wharton Board of Oversees.
Anil Ambani is a man who still dominates the Indian business landscape.
His business interest is expanding to countries like the United Arab Emirate and Germany.
Also within India, RADA is acquiring and merging with other companies.
